A comprehensive software solution that provides proven powerful support for the efficient operation of Integrated Community Equipment Services
Ethitec's Equipment Loan Management System (ELMS2) is a sophisticated, very scalable and proven modular multi-user system which provides support for the provision of medical aid equipment to people living in the community. The system supports the ordering, stock management, purchasing, asset management, distribution, and collection of community equipment, aided by full support for multiple stores, wheelchair services, third party system links, barcoding, and online (web) based access and ordering.
The first version of ELMS2 was developed back in 1990 as a bespoke application for the British Red Cross Community Equipment Service in Leicester. Even though our Project Team have unrivalled experience within this sector, the system certainly isn’t showing its age. Driven by our active User Group, and constantly enhanced by our own all-graduate UK-based development team, ELMS2 continues to evolve, remaining highly relevant for all sizes of store, while staying true to its two key design concepts :-

This framework agreement allows English
stores to purchase ELMS2 through the framework without going through a competitive tendering procedure.
As a minimum, the ELMS2 Base, Servicing, Journey Planning, and Barcoding Modules are required by English sites
to meet 100% compliance with this minimum specification.
ELMS2 also has many additional modules, features and
functions extending well beyond this, which help to ensure that the system remains the leading
solution available to Integrated Community Equipment Services.
ELMS2 is menu-driven, with access levels to suit various user profiles, and a wealth of variable system
parameters ensure that the system is flexible enough to adapt to the way YOU want to work, while exerting the
control over your operations that you require. A (very) high level view of the functionality is shown below :-

The most significant enhancements (minor improvements are released regularly) to ELMS2 recently have been designed to work 'online' (i.e via a Web Browser), with excellent performance and usability feedback from our end users. At the end of February 2003, an ELMS2 user in Leicester became the first UK Allied Health Professional to place a requisition order for a piece of equipment online, and Ethitec continue to pioneer the innovative, relevant, and secure use of web technology. Ethitec recognises that web technology is dependent on resilient communications links to provide a reliable service and Ethitec have developed systems to cater for all eventualities - ELMS2 uses a ‘mixed’ environment allowing remote access via its web module to realise all the benefits of on-line ordering, while the store management have a local server providing performance and security benefits and minimising their dependence on external links.

The management and operational reporting in ELMS2 ensures that relevant information on waiting lists, budget holders, service histories, recycling rates, issues within period, and item usage is immediately available, along with all the latest performance indicators. Changes in legislative reporting requirements have always been incorporated into the system as they are identified at no additional cost to our users.
Future planned developments, such as compliance with the NHS National Spine, are considered, developed, tested and deployed as our individual customers, our ELMS2 User Group, and our own developers make suggestions. In this way, the software is constantly improving, and in today’s rapidly changing environment the rate of change is increasing.
Things move so quickly that it is impossible for any written description to really do the system justice, so why not contact us and arrange a full on-site presentation, without cost or obligation?
